Perception, Action, Will

This is all you need as a person and athlete. Marcus Aurelius from his writing in Meditations states,

“All you need are these: certainty of judgment in the present moment; action for the common good in the present moment; and an attitude of gratitude in the present moment for anything that comes your way.”

We must continue to work hard to improve and increase our awareness of how we flow together as a team. Continue to challenge yourself by:

1. Controlling your perceptions
2. Direct your actions properly
3. Willingly accept what is outside of your control

If you miss a shot….you cannot control this. You can control shot selection and doing everything within your routine to put your body and mind in the best situation to make the shot, but the result is out of your control. Your mindset on a foul or whether you are playing enough in controlled by you. Your actions in the classroom and school are controlled by you. Understand that your vision of your life will become a reality. Understand that your choices are what you control. The world around you, the environment, the teachers you have, your body limitations are not under your control.

So simply focus on these three items. That is all
